In 2010, Janelle Monáe won a Soul Train Centric Award, plus received critical acclaim plus a Grammy Nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album, and her song (“Tightrope”) was nominated for “Best Urban/Alternative Performance”.

In addition, Janelle Monáe also received the Vanguard Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers at the Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
